Joan Baez diamonds and rust

We show the people we love our diamonds but they can’t always see them, all they can see is rust or dust. They think what others have to offer is lousy but really they are just so scared and can’t see what the jewels. Fear stopped them being able to see anything but the lack, the missing bits, the bits need fixing /working on. So that’s all that are mirrored back and that is hard. It is all they can see in themselves too which cannot / is not an easy way to live/carry on.

They cannot be there emotionally for others when they are in that vulnerable scary place.

Just having those jewels acknowledged / mirrored by is very precious.
