August’s full Moon was traditionally called the Sturgeon Moon because the giant sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this part of summer.

Other names for this Full Moon include ”Full Green Corn Moon,” signaling that the corn was nearly ready for harvest, “Wheat Cut Moon,” “Moon When All Things Ripen,” and ”Blueberry Moon.”

BY NATURE, a Full Moon in Aquarius is electrical – surprising and at times even shocking. The sign is independent, unconventional, and rebellious, often socially aware and progressive.  But, at the same time, Aquarius is a fixed sign, which means it can be strongly opinionated and resistant to input from others, preferring to live according to its own unique perspective on reality. Aquarius lives by the adage, “march to the beat of your own drum.”

Dear Lunascopers

Hold on tight – this August is going to be another intense ride!

The revolutionary Aquarius full moon on monday kicks off a powerful month of more upheaval and shift.

Since January, Jupiter conjunct Pluto has been disclosing the inherent corruption, nepotism and injustice at the heart of our system. Each revelation is creating a shift in consciousness, and changing the paradigm and narrative that has dominated our consciousness for over 2000 years.

Adding fuel to the fire, four major planets are still in retrograde: Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus will go retrograde on 15th August. Retrograde planets are closer to the earth and we can feel their effects more strongly.

Neowise (New Wisdom), a comet that orbits earth every 6,800 years has been in our earthly sights since July, permeating its energy. The last time it visited so close to our orbit was in 4747BC and the beginning of the collapse of the Goddess worship cults. According to some astrologers, the return of the comet may be heralding the breakdown of the patriarchal consciousness, and a re-awakening of the divine feminine.

These auspicious planetary and energetic influences are upgrading our awareness and influencing the shift from individual consciousness, to a more collective consciousness.

The full moon in Aquarius, symbolised by the female water-bearing Goddess who pours life-giving, nourishing water onto the land, helps ignite this unity consciousness. It is a metaphor to help us feel our own personal connection with nature, so we can trust that everything is happening perfectly.

Under this Aquarius full moon, we feel more connected to our wider community, humanity as a whole, and sometimes this can extend to the universe, other dimensions and beyond, urging us to create a more symbiotic and healthy relationship with Mother Earth.

This Aquarius full moon reminds us that we are all on this planet together, and we are all responsible for what happens next. It can take us to another level of awareness that goes beyond the rational, selfish, three dimensional perspective, to a more encompassing viewpoint, enabling us to move beyond martyr and victimhood, to a more empowered state of personal responsibility.

However, this particular full moon may also trigger a deep and powerful need to emancipate from the societal and financial slavery. Ruled by both Uranus, the planet of awakening, and Saturn, the planet of restrictions and limitations, the full moon in Aquarius rips away the veil, (which can be painful) taking us out of our conventional mind-set, to see beyond the illusions of our belief systems.

Under the light of an Aquarius full moon, and the Leo sun, people can find the inner strength to express their feelings and revolt. We could see a lot more riots and unrest kick off, as more secrets are unearthed, revealing deep embedded corruption within our political and economic systems, and tearing the cracks of discontent even wider.

Nevertheless, Aquarius is more focused on bringing about inner change so this can also be a ‘breakthrough’ moon, especially for those who have been feeling stuck and confused over the last few months, and unsure of the next steps.

The fog finally lifts under an Aquarius full moon. We can see things from new perspectives, enabling us to have a new vision of who we are, and realign with our purpose and passion and what we need to do in the world.

We may start seeing the fruition of our projects and dreams that we have been sowing since the beginning of the year. This is a good time to use these planetary energies to inspire you to keep on going, regardless of the challenges, and trust you are closer to your goals than you think.

The river is flowing fast, and we are already heading into a new season, and a new more dynamic energy, influenced by the Leo new moon, bringing with it a continuation of the revolutionary energy that is fuelling the evolutionary change.

My advice is to surround yourself with loving friends and family this weekend. Do something special together and send that love vibration out into the world. 

Go and dance wildly outside on the full moon night. Have a group hug, celebrate, go and do something crazy, have fun, feel the earth between your toes, eat great food, feel the passion, make love and ENJOY everything you do.

During this full moon period try to stay away from the mainstream media and give yourself a few days of only surrounding yourself with positive news and stories from around the world.  When we tune out the negativity it is easier to see all the amazing, loving things that are happening around us.

If your inner voice has been nudging you to make a change in your life, express your deepest desires, or break out of any conditioning that is no longer serving you, use the power of this Aquarius full moon to ignite your creativity and passion.

At least once a day, follow your intuition rather than your rational mind, even if it doesn’t make any sense. The more you follow it, the stronger it becomes, and soon your intuition will guide you. Be open to the messages and use the energy of the Aquarius moon to trust yourself enough to follow its guidance.

Take a moonbathe and ask the Full Moon what answers she has for you! Ask the questions you have been seeking answers for, and don’t be afraid of the messages that come bubbling up from your unconscious. Set your intention under the moonlight for what you want to manifest, and then enjoy how the magic, as life reveals your dreams.

Full Moon in Aquarius  This is the first post-eclipse full moon, which catapults us forward into a new energy of change. Aquarius is a sign of the revolutionary, and is very much about finding your unique thread, what you and you alone can bring into the world. This full moon can bring with it big emotions or feelings of overwhelm, so giving yourself time to go within and listen to those inner whispers of the Soul can be so incredibly supportive.  Moon Square Uranus  Not only is this full moon in Aquarius, but it is also squaring Uranus, the change maker and rebel himself. Uranus can bring abrupt change, like a lightning bolt, seemingly out of nowhere. It’s change for the highest good, illuminating the next step on your path forward. Uranus has the potential to drop insights and ideas onto your doorstep, waking you up to the truth. This can be both exciting and terrifying, but focusing on the excitement can help you hold on while the roller coaster rises and falls.  Moon Sextile Chiron  Chiron, who was activated by Mars during the new moon two weeks ago, is aspecting this full moon. Wounded healer and medicine man, he is bringing attention to core wounds, blocks, and ultimately highlighting what is holding you back from reaching the fullness of your true Self.Stepping into the uncomfortable, into the fears, into the depths of your emotions, allows you to receive the gifts of Chiron’s medicine—through the pain comes great wisdom and healing. Mars Conjunct Black Moon & Square Jupiter  Mars has been making his way through Aries over the past month, activating other planets and asteroids along the way. Mars brings a heat and intensity. Combined with Black Moon, there’s no telling what could happen. Black Moon represents all the threads of the Dark Goddesses, especially Eris, Medusa, Lilith, and Kali for this particular full moon. In addition, Mars is squaring Jupiter, who brings expansion and growth. Between Mars’ activation and Jupiter’s expansion, the Dark Goddesses will be bringing some juice to this full moon for sure. This can show up as heightened emotions, tension in relationships, as well as more truth, more power, and more of the feminine coming out to play.  Mars will be a big energy through the remainder of 2020. In the upcoming weeks Mars will form an activating and powerful square with Pluto and Saturn. The exact Pluto/Saturn conjunction occurred back in January 2020, setting the stage for change and transformation. Mars joined the Pluto/Saturn conjunction in March, causing a huge activation of change worldwide. Now, with Mars squaring off against these two planets, energies are intensified again. We can prepare by having a daily practice, finding alignment in Self, and—while not burying our heads in the sand—learning to dance and find our own rhythm in the chaos.

Lunar living – Moon Musings

Hey lunar love. Monday 3rd August at 16.59 GMT brings the Aquarius full moon. The last full moon in Capricorn asked you to step into your inner power, truth and spiritual awakening and live your purpose. Then along came our double/black moon in Cancer to give you a second chance at a new beginning, asking you to take responsibility for your life and create a safe home in you. Now this Aquarius full moon comes along to illuminate the skies and your need for the freedom to be yourself.   There may be a real feeling of things shifting around this full moon, a sense of a stirring energy in the pit of your belly and you might find yourself prowling, pacing up and down and feeling restless and restricted.   This full moon is calling you to find the freedom to be yourself. Given what we have been through and learned and processed over the last few months, this moon wants to help you break things out and break things up and awaken into a new reality. A new reality where you are free to be you – truly, completely and authentically you, with nothing left to hide or fear.   There will be a very intense, dynamic energy around this moon as you are called to break free from all that limits and holds you back. You will be able to see and feel so clearly all the areas in your life where you are stuck, not just bound by external factors, but also how you bind yourself.   And you will feel this. You will feel as though you are fed up of being held down and held back and the need to create change will be strong. Where you have felt cautious or restricted over the last few months you now want to simply break free. You’ll find yourself tired of restrictions and wanting to take action and shake things up. You will want to break out of boring stuck patterns and ways of thinking and believing and being – there may even be a sense of being bored of yourself and the ways in which you always worry and hold yourself back, and with this a longing to simply let go of all the fear and just embrace, accept and be yourself.   This moon is here to help you to fearlessly seek your truth and, most of all, find an unwavering faith in where your journey is taking you. Although this moon will feel intense, remember that fear and excitement feel the same in the body so lean into this with an edge of excitement and trust that this is all happening for a reason to help you move towards your greatest potential and freedom. Don’t try to control or grip around this moon, otherwise you’ll feel things actually slipping away further and faster! Notice what you are resisting and instead lean into this energy with total trust and surrender. Trust that your soul knows best and that when you let things fall away you are only left with the most authentic version of you and what is lasting and true for you, this is the greatest freedom.
